Choreography by Anna-Lise Marie Dance, Lizzie J Klotz, Sarah Louise Kristiansen and Esther Siddiquie and art by Vasiliki Stasinaki and Jonna Tideman
Photography by Liz Gorman
Kaleidoscopic, it seems to me, have started something good.
From emotive to humorous pieces, and provocative and bold art from Jonna Tideman and Vasiliki Stasinaki, the 3rd platform brought incredibly interesting works.
Our Physical Intentions by Anna-Lise Marie Dance
Our Physical Intentions explores the process of how our thoughts directly determine and influence our emotions. The piece unravels and reveals that by shifting our interpretation we can alter our emotional and physical state. Allow yourself to experience notions of a busy mind, thought and emotion isolation and an absolute ability to reach a present state.
Metallic Limbs by Sarah Louise Kristiansen
In my metallic limbs all sensations have gone.
And I wonder.
Perhaps if I ask you to tell me about it, it will change?
Go on then.
To Suit by Lizzie J Klotz
To Suit explores body language as a means of conversation, commenting on the social processes and formalities of human relationships, and comparing them to animal courtship rituals.
To Suit is a Dance City commission with support from Arts Council England.
Suitcase – Ein Tanzstück für Zuschauer by Esther Manon Siddiquie
A curious encounter between the performer, the viewer and an enchanting flower suitcase, in which chance and choice are to decide upon the outcome of the performance. A wonderful dialogue between the performer and the viewer leaving the audience captivated with a smile.
Protect by Vasiliki Stasinaki (art)
Exposed and vulnerable bodies seeking protection. Protection that suffocates. Now and always, here and everywhere.
Sculpture. Embroidery. Quilt.
Selection of drawings by Jonna Tideman (art)
A selection of drawings inviting the viewer to share intimate thoughts and moments with the people depicted.
With many thanks to the support of everyone at The Galvanisers Union and the IdeasTap Innovators Fund.
